It sounds basic. We all breathe, right? But intentional breathing—knowing when and how to control it—is often overlooked. Yet, it’s the difference between staying calm and falling apart when pressure hits.

Whether you’re facing a tough crux on a climb, anticipating a fall, feeling the heat in a boxing drill, or just grinding through weight training, mastering your breath can keep you steady, focused, and in control. Beyond sports, this skill helps you stay present, less reactive, and more open in everyday life.

Breathing right might just be the most important foundational skill I teach. It’s simple to start, but powerful enough to impact every part of your training—and your day.
